Through my writing journey, I learned about the outcomes of strong female protagonists. We all like to cheer for the main character, but having a woman who can change the world is a different story. How do we create those female characters that seem to pop out of the page?
How strong can she be?
We all know that the protagonist’s role is to follow a journey where he/she gets to overcome the problems that pop in their way. The bigger those problems are, the stronger the character becomes. That’s what we want to see our female protagonist achieving. Strength could be having the physical ability to take down the antagonist, yet power can exist in many shapes and sizes.
Emotions
Females are emotional; we all know that. It is interesting to learn about how the protagonist’s feelings develop in the plot and the powerful impact she could have on the story. There is always that struggle between reason and emotions that a woman usually goes through when making decisions. How can she learn to control those feelings? She must be able to make her own opinions and follow them through, even if she makes mistakes along the way.

Let’s talk beauty
The powerful message you need to give when you create your female character is her beauty. Beauty does not lay in the physical attributes; you need to shine her beauty in many ways. Find beautiful things about her that make her unique. She doesn’t have to look like a supermodel. She needs to feel comfortable in her skin and be confident about it. It could be an issue you can focus on in your novel; this might be the goal she’s trying to achieve.
Always remember that beauty radiates from the inside and keep in mind that readers love these kinds of characters and can relate to them. Everyone is beautiful in their way.
