We all love to write. We all lay our emotions there on a piece of paper, and we give it our best shot. We finish the manuscript we’ve been writing for years, and we close it off with The End. It might be the end of your document, yet this is where it begins for you.
Now I suspect that after the long journey of writing that novel, you feel so connected to it, as if it’s a piece of you. I know this feeling very much. We fall in love with our writing so much that we’re eager to show it to the world. This is a good thing because falling in love with your work is a must. Suppose you don’t, then you have a problem. Never submit something that you don’t love. You must write until you feel that it belongs somewhere in your heart.
Sometimes you adore your writing where it is just too much. You don’t want to change a thing anymore, and you feel that the manuscript is complete and just perfect. You show the latter to an agent or a publisher, and they never see it as you do. They tell you it’s not what they’re looking for.

It’s okay; remember to show your manuscript first to your beta-readers and your editor before anything else. Beta-readers are people that enjoy reading. They’ve read so many books where they have enough experience to evaluate and review them. Hear what they have to say and consider their ideas. Your editor has worked with so many manuscripts where he/she has enough knowledge to identify your plot holes. Always listen to them and implement their suggestions.
Look at your manuscript from a distance and have the courage to change it to create something improved and just brilliant. I know because I’ve been in your shoes a lot of times, yet know one thing, always love your writing no matter what.
