Let’s Get Out of Our Comfort Zone: My 2021 Reading Challenge.

Posted on December 31, 2020December 29, 2020 by admin

This year I want to be bold, and I want to step out of my comfort zone. I’ll tell you what has been up on my mind lately, and I would love it if you’d do the same.

I am a reader who enjoys thrillers and mysteries, and last year most of the books I’ve been reading were from this genre. Well, not anymore. I am rolling my sleeves, and I’m digging into new genres I will explore this year. Let me give you my list.

  1. Historical Fiction– The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes.
  2. Fiction– My Dark Vanessa by Elizabeth Russel.
  3. European Literature– The Mirror and The Light by Hilary Mantel.
  4. Thriller– The Guest List by Lucy Foley.
  5. Romance–The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo.
  6. Chick-Lit– The Switch by Beth O-Leary.
  7. Fantasy– The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow.
  8. Mystery– The Night Swim by Megan Goldin.
  9. Sci-Fi– Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi.
  10. Young Adult–The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.
  11. New Adult– The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue.
  12. Classic– To Kill a Mockingbird.

Yup, this is my list; a book each month. I’m sure I will squeeze extra books in there as well. Will I cheat? Hmmm… maybe. If I do, though, I promise I’ll tell you.

Welcome!

I'm an author who enjoys writing fiction. I published three novels: Beige and Blue, Dalia, and Jasmine Tea.

Welcome!
