The first time I heard the famous phrase of don’t judge a book by its cover, I was still in school, sitting in the library. The librarian awed us with her words, as she explained that we should not pick books just because their cover looks good, but because of what’s inside that cover.
Now, as I think of that moment, I wonder if the librarian was right.
Don’t we all judge books by their cover? Isn’t this why people make book covers in the first place?
I know I’m overdramatic, yet whether we judge books by their covers or not, they are essential in the process of book creation. They lure the reader, entice him/her to take the second step, and open that book up to see what’s inside.
It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you choose to see.

Never forget that book cover design is very subjective; every person has their taste and differs from what they choose. I think that cover design is essential, not only because it makes the book look good, but it gains an appreciation from the reader. It’s nice when you hear someone tell you that your book looks good; it’s a nice compliment.
You can judge a book by its cover, or you can’t; it’s all up to you. Yet keep in mind that the excellent book you just picked up at the bookstore, you picked because you looked at its cover first; you read the blurb, and then you bought it. Whether we like it or not, that’s how it goes.
What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I believe humans are visual creatures and there is a minimum requirement of visual looks for acceptance that exists in the things or people that drives us to take a next step.
So I do believe in judging by the cover, because it is rarely wrong ( or at least that’s my experience), and when you have put the effort to make something special and a good content, then it is absolutely worthwhile to make a worthy cover for it.
Thank you so much, I totally agree with you.
